America FC and the rest of Liga MX are officially back in EA Sports FC 27. Electronic Arts and Mexico’s top football division confirmed a new multi-year licensing agreement on July 22, 2026, ending a four-year absence from the franchise. The deal restores all 18 Liga MX clubs, including Club América, with real crests, kits, and rosters. Fans who play as Club América can finally use the team’s true identity again when the game launches this September.
What EA Sports And Liga MX Confirmed
The agreement brings full official licensing to EA Sports FC 27, meaning Club América will appear with its actual badge, home colors, and current squad rather than generic placeholder names. EA Sports FC’s vice president of brand, Jeff Sharma, pointed to the passion of Liga MX supporters as a driving reason behind the renewed partnership. Liga MX president Mikel Arriola said the return will help the league reach younger fans through gaming.
The league will be playable across every major mode, according to early confirmations from EA Sports. That includes Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and the standard Kick Off matches that most casual players use. America FC supporters will no longer need mods or roster edits to field their preferred lineup, and Club América supporters will no longer need mods or roster edits to field their preferred lineup.

Why America FC Fans Waited Four Years
Liga MX last appeared fully licensed in FIFA 22, before Electronic Arts lost the rights heading into the following season. The league’s clubs, including the Águilas, spent the next four editions represented only by generic player names and no official branding.

The Konami Exclusivity Deal
In 2022, Liga MX signed an exclusivity agreement with Konami’s eFootball instead of renewing with EA Sports. América FC joined that partnership directly, receiving its own in-game stadium and facial scans for much of the first-team squad. The arrangement struggled because eFootball is built mainly around online play and never added a full career mode, limiting what América and other clubs could offer their fans. Konami and Liga MX ended that agreement in 2025, clearing the path for EA Sports to negotiate a return.
Estadio Azteca Comes Back To The Game
One of the most requested additions alongside Club América is the return of Estadio Azteca. This historic venue serves as home to both Club América and the Mexican national team. Reports citing people familiar with the licensing deal say the stadium will be rebuilt in-game to reflect its recent renovations ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Its inclusion gives America FC one of the most recognizable home venues in the entire EA Sports FC 27 stadium list.
What America FC Players Get In EA Sports FC 27
The full Liga MX license unlocks several practical upgrades for anyone building squads around Club América or its rivals. EA Sports has outlined a handful of confirmed additions tied to the league’s return:
- All 18 Liga MX clubs with licensed crests, kits, and stadiums
- Real player names and likenesses instead of generic free agents
- Club América and other top clubs available in Ultimate Team squad building
- Full Career Mode support for managing Liga MX teams long term
- Estadio Azteca added to the official stadium roster.
Ultimate Team Additions
Inside Ultimate Team, players will be able to pack or trade for Club América stars and build chemistry-linked Liga MX squads for the first time since 2022. This restores an entire pool of Mexican talent that had effectively disappeared from the mode, and it gives America FC one of the most sought-after rosters in the entire game.
Career Mode Changes
Career Mode players can now take charge of America FC from the very first match, competing domestically and pursuing continental competitions with the club’s real roster intact. Previously, users had to rename generic teams and manually recreate lineups to approximate the experience, which made long-term club building feel incomplete for years.

The Grounds Open World Mode
EA Sports FC 27 will also debut The Grounds, a new open-world social space built around street football, one-on-one duels, and Club matches. It marks a structural change from the franchise’s traditional menu system toward a more interactive hub. While The Grounds is not exclusive to Liga MX content, Club América gear and player likenesses are expected to appear inside the mode’s customization options.
Release Date And Platforms for América FC Fans
EA Sports FC 27 launches September 25, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who buy the Ultimate or Ultimate Plus editions get early access starting September 18. The Liga MX license, including Club América, will also extend to EA Sports FC Mobile.
